CA10 - The Cotentin peninsula

Unguided walking tour in Normandy - France - in the North of Cotentin peninsula from Biville to Saint Vaast la Hougue via Cherbourg and Barfleur.

The Cotentin Peninsula offers unique landscapes otherwise unknown along the Normandy coastline. To the West, a granite spine dominates the dunes and beaches. These grandiose, wild sites, the Nez de Jobourg and the Raz de Blanchard, among others, are dreaded by seamen. To the East, a vast granite plateau called Le Val de Saire penetrates slowly into the sea, its beaches alternating with headlands and harbors. You will discover Cherbourg and its famous fortified bay dominated by a massive fort, Cherbourg which welcomed transatlantic liners and houses today the citι de la Mer, a submarine museum.
