CA01 - Opal Coast
Unguided walking holidays in North of France along the Opal Coast from Calais to Boulogne sur Mer via Blanc Nez and Gris Nez capes, the long beaches of Wissant and Wimereux
From the Belgian border to the Somme Bay the Opal Coast, named for the milky color of its waters, welcomes the traveler to France at the country’s most northern stretch. In the distance across the water lies England’s hazy coast, and ahead, a varied landscape of vast sandy beaches, shifting dunes and rock cliffs struggling in a losing battle against the ceaseless ebb and flow of the ocean’s waves. As the adventurer, you will discover the various facets of this still little-known coast : the large harbors of Calais and Boulogne, small fishing villages, and, for the sports enthusiast, all that can be offered by wind, sand and sea.
