It is essential that you carefully read and you understand these Booking Conditions which contain important information. They constitute the contract between La Caminade and you for the services provided by La Caminade and set out the basis of your legal relationship with La Caminade. By booking with us and paying the deposit, you acknowledge that you have read and understood and that you agree to be bound by these Booking Conditions.

The walking tours described in the brochure or in the Internet site are operated by Sentiers de France trading as La Caminade, which has its head office at Saint Cyr sur Loire – France

1- Making your booking

To make a booking, you must complete our booking form. This must be signed by the party leader on the booking ("the leader"). The leader is responsible for making all payments due to us. The completed signed booking form must then be sent to us together with the payments referred clause 2 below. Once we have received your booking form and all appropriate payments, we will, subject to availability, confirm your tour by sending a booking confirmation and a contract to the leader.

2- Payment

In order to confirm your chosen tour, a deposit of 30% of the total cost (or full payment if your booking form is received within one month of departure) must be paid at the time of booking. If the booking is not accepted the deposit paid and submitted with the booking form will be refunded.
The balance of the tour price must be received by us not less than 30 days prior to departure. If we do not receive all payments due (including any surcharge where applicable) in full and on time, we will send you a written reminder. If you do not pay all payments due in full within 7 days of receiving this reminder, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you. In this case the cancellation charges set out in clause 5 below will be payable.

3- Last minute booking

When it’s possible we accept booking made within the week of departure. The full payment is made only by credit card and you have to pay and extra fee of 40 euros for an express delivery of the tour dossier at the first hotel you will stay.

4- Cancellation by La Caminade

La Caminade reserves the right to cancel the departure and will advise you of such cancellations in written. We will offer you alternative arrangements and if the price of your alternative booking is of lower value than the original booking we will refund the difference to you. If you do not accept alternative arrangements we will refund all payments you have made to La Caminade, less any unrecoverable costs incurred by La Caminade, but we will not be liable under any circumstances whatsoever for any claims made by you for any additional costs incurred by you.
If you have paid your booking in full, La Caminade will pay you a compensation of an amount equal to the cancellation charges due in a reverse case.(cancellation by you – see clause 5 below)
La Caminade will not be liable for any delay in, change to or cancellation of trips due to Force Majeure. Force Majeure means a circumstance beyond the reasonable control of La Caminade and includes but is not limited to war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, industrial or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and strikes. If La Caminade does cancel a trip as a result of Force Majeure, or government travel advice, La Caminade will offer you alternative arrangements and if the price of your alternative booking is of lower value than the original booking, we will refund the difference to you. If you do not accept alternative arrangements, we will refund all payments you have made to La Caminade less any unrecoverable costs. La Caminade will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by you.

5- Cancellation by Customer

Should you or any member of your party need to cancel your chosen tour once it has been confirmed, the leader must immediately advise us in writing by recorded delivery post or fax. The date when written confirmation of cancellation is received by La Caminade will determine the charges applicable. the following charges will be payable per person canceling , These are shown as a percentage of the total cost payable by the person(s) canceling excluding insurance premiums and any amendment charges,
More than 30 days - 100 euro per person cancelling (300 euros for a party of 4 people or more)
Between 30 and 21 days - 25%
Between 20 and 8 days - 50%
Between 7 and 2 days - 75%
2 days or less - 100%
In addition to the above charges, it may be necessary to add under-occupancy or single room supplements to other members of a party where member(s) of that party cancel.
Depending on your reason for cancellation, these charges may be recoverable under your insurance policy.
No refunds will be made if you leave a trip for any reason after the trip has begun.

6- Changes by Customer

Should you wish to make any changes to your confirmed tour, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. Whilst we will endeavor to assist, we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet any such requests. Where we can, an amendment fee of 80 euros per people (250 euros for a party of 4 people or more) will be payable together with any costs or charges incurred by us and/or incurred or imposed by any of our suppliers. Additionally, if the alteration is within 4 weeks of the original departure date, the cancellation charges in clause 5 may be applied.

7- Complaints

If you have any complaint about your trip, you must make it known at the earliest opportunity to La Caminade's local representative or suppliers, who will normally be able to take appropriate action. If you are not satisfied with their response and feel your enjoyment of the holiday is likely to be significantly affected, you should notify us in writing and we will do our best to resolve the problem. If at the end of the trip you feel your complaint has not been properly dealt with, you must notify us in writing within 30 days of the end of your trip.

8- Travel insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all La Caminade’s hikers. Your travel insurance must cover accidents, medical expenses, including any related to pre-existing medical conditions, emergency repatriation, and personal liability. La Caminade also recommends it covers cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. You are required to carry proof of insurance with you and produce it if reasonably requested by La Caminade's employees or suppliers.

9- Health, fitness and trip grades

Carefully read the information on trips and take special note of trip grades. The majority of trips are not demanding for people who are healthy and reasonably fit.
